We volunteered in Uganda to attain a better understanding of how life in third-world countries can differ from ours in Australia. During our stay, we spent time in refugee camps and local communities and witnessed the day-to-day struggle some Ugandans go through just to attain the most basic essentials like food and water. It became visibly apparent that many Ugandans were unemployed, not by choice but rather due to a lack of opportunity.
